A couple of years ago I founded The Stack, a .NET User Group in Liverpool. Since then we have had many great sessions and speakers from around the world.
Last year saw the next stage of the groups growth with us holding our first full day conference, based around Windows 8, here in Liverpool. We were lucky enough to have speakers from Microsoft and Microsoft MVPs speak on the day and played host to around 100 developers from across the UK. On that day I knew I wanted to get another full day conference organised and I am happy to say that it is happening on April 9th 2013.
This years conference is all about Windows Azure, a platform that has seen enormous growth in the last couple of years, with some really fantastic features like Windows Azure Mobile Services (if you haven’t seen them yet check out my new blog series).
I am also delighted to say that we have a truly incredible line-up of speakers for this years event, including Scott Klein – an Azure evangelist from Microsoft Redmond, Mike Taulty – an evangelist from Microsoft UK, and Maarten Balliauw, Richard Conway and Andy Cross – three well known MVPs from the Azure community!
At last years event we received awesome feedback about all of our content and speakers and the day was very well received. We did get some constructive feedback about the length of the sessions and some of the facilities, but I am pleased to say we have listened and acted on it to make this years event even better!
- Sessions were just slightly too long – they are all now 1 hour.
- Breaks were slightly too short – now all 1/2 breaks
- Seats were uncomfortable for all day use – We now have a brand new lecture theatre with really comfortable seats and desk space for everyone!
We do still have a few surprises up our sleeve for the day itself and there will be plenty of SWAG for this years attendees, just as there was last year with everyone receiving a “SWAG Bag”.
All the details and registration can be found over at the event web site at http://stacked.thestack.co.uk. I hope to see some of you there!
